Nashik: political career of Uddhav Thackeray is in a catch-22 situation. The rebellion of Eknath Shinde and then most Sena MLAs joined the Shinde camp. Uddhav had to resign and the new government came into force with the support of the BJP.
The former Maharashtra CM’s decision to support the NDA’s candidate in the upcoming presidential polls is a sign that he wants to be an ally of the saffron party.
Regarding political upheaval, Shiv Sena MP from Nashik, Hemant Godse, said on Tuesday that the BJP was a natural ally of the Shiv Sena, unlike the “unnatural alliance” of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, and urged Sena president Uddhav Thackeray to go with the BJP once again. Godse accused the NCP of trying to create obstacles to projects in constituencies held by the Sena.
The Sena is a political adversary of the NCP at all levels. It has traditionally opposed the NCP on political grounds. Decades-old rivalries can’t be ended in a few years.
The Nashik MP further added that “if we continue with the MVA alliance, what will our Sena candidates do? This is the biggest question that will arise. So, with regard to an alliance with BJP or if Eknath Shinde desires to come back to the party… we requested Uddhavji to accept him back into the party fold. “
