In a momentous occasion for India’s defence sector, the first indigenously manufactured Drishti 10 ‘Starliner’ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is set to be flagged off today by Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar. This unveiling signifies a crucial leap towards achieving strategic autonomy and asserting India’s technological prowess in advanced aerial systems.
The prestigious flag-off ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Adani Aerospace Park located in Hyderabad. This event not only showcases the technological advancements but also underscores the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in defence and security sectors.
Adani Defence and Aerospace stands at the forefront of this groundbreaking initiative, emphasizing its dedication to fostering indigenous capabilities in defence. The entity has already carved a niche by establishing facilities dedicated to a diverse range of defence sectors, including small arms, radars, tactical communication systems, and more.
Highlighting its trailblazing endeavors, Adani Defence has set up India’s premier unmanned aerial vehicles manufacturing facility and the country’s maiden private sector small arms manufacturing unit. Furthermore, the establishment is in the process of inaugurating India’s first comprehensive aircraft MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility, ensuring adherence to international safety and airworthiness standards.
Recognizing the evolving challenges posed by rogue drones, Adani Defence is diligently working on developing cutting-edge counter-drone systems tailored for both defence and civilian applications.
