Mumbai: Authorities in Navi Mumbai are investigating a reported theft at Dutt Mandir in the Airoli area, where thieves allegedly absconded with Rs. 20,000 from the temple’s donation box. On a night cloaked in darkness, between February 21 and 22, thieves made away with Rs 20,000 from the temple’s donation box, leaving the community and its trustees in a state of shock and disbelief.

The Rabale police immediately responded to the complaint lodged by a trustee of the Datta Mandir temple. Starting the investigation into the theft, the authorities resorted to CCTV footage as their first line of investigation in the hope of getting a glimpse of the culprits. The task ahead is difficult, the goal is not only to recover the stolen donations but also to ensure that such a violation of sanctity does not happen again.
