NDA Parliamentary Party Meeting: PM Modi to Address Key Session Today

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting is scheduled for today at 9:30 am in the GMC Balayogi Auditorium of the Parliament Library Building (PLB). Following the BJP-led NDA’s third consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the MPs of the ruling coalition during this first session of Parliament.

PM Modi’s Address to NDA MPs
Prime Minister Modi, who has previously addressed NDA MPs on numerous occasions, is set to deliver his first speech to the coalition MPs since commencing his third term. Although it is customary for him to address BJP MPs during parliamentary sessions, today’s address to the broader NDA is significant given the recent electoral outcomes.

Crucial Meeting for BJP and Allies
Official sources have confirmed that all BJP MPs and their allies have been notified to attend this important meeting. The BJP’s reliance on its allies is crucial as it has lost its majority in the Lok Sabha for the first time since 2014, making coalition support vital for the government’s stability. The meeting coincides with ongoing discussions in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha regarding the Motion of Thanks to President Droupadi Murmu’s joint parliamentary address.

PM Modi’s Response to Motion of Thanks Debate
Prime Minister Modi is also expected to respond to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address this evening. The 16-hour debate commenced on Monday morning and is set to conclude today, with Modi providing his response thereafter. The debate’s start was delayed on Friday due to opposition disruptions over the NEET exam paper leak issue.

Congress Seeks PM’s Response on NEET and Agniveer
On Monday, Congress accused the BJP of distorting Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha speech, claiming he insulted Hindus. The ruling party, however, faced demands to address pressing issues like the NEET exam and Agniveer. In a heated session, Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP leadership for allegedly fostering communal divisions, which prompted strong reactions from BJP members. Prime Minister Modi responded by condemning Gandhi’s remarks, accusing him of branding the entire Hindu community as violent.
