Kathmandu: At least 17 people were killed and 10 missing in landslides triggered by heavy rains in different parts of Nepal’s Achham district on Saturday. On this incident, Deputy Officer of the district Dipesh Rizal has said that after the landslide, rescue operation has been intensified in different areas of Achham district.
In view of the disaster, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has ordered for deployment of helicopters for search and rescue operations. It is raining continuously in Nepal at this time. As a result, problems like floods and landslides have arisen.
At least two people were killed and 11 went missing in floods and landslides that hit Bangbagad area of Darchula district of Nepal last Saturday due to heavy rains. Lasku and Mahakali rivers are in spate due to incessant rains. Two bridges, several houses in the area were washed away due to the floods. The situation is worsening due to floods in many areas of Nepal.
According to the report, people in Nepal have to deal with the problems of floods and landslides every year during the monsoon season. Due to which the country has to suffer loss of life and property.
Earlier, the neighboring country of Pakistan is suffering from the problems of floods due to heavy rains. For the first time in Islamabad, people are facing natural calamities on a large scale. A few days ago there was news that half of Pakistan was submerged in water. Millions of people became homeless and thousands died due to the floods.
