Bhubaneswar: A new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) will be established at the IIT Bhubaneswar campus. The proposal to build a new KV on the IIT Bhubaneswar campus in the academic year 2022–23 has been approved. According to official sources, the admission process for the new KV will begin with the current academic session.
The foundation stone for a Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) on the IIT Bhubaneswar campus will be laid on Saturday by Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In the beginning, the KV will take admission from the current session for classes I to V (single section in each class), as stated in a statement issued by the institute on Friday.
The new KV’s permanent campus will be set up on more than 10 acres of land inside the national institute at Argul in Khurda district. IIT Bhubaneswar is ready to bear the entire cost of running the KV inside the IIT campus. The unveiling of the new Kendriya Vidyalaya will be a boon for the local residents of Jatni.
The Union minister will also unveil a temporary building at the KV on Saturday from where classes will be operated from this year.
According to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), IIT Bhubaneswar is ready to provide permanent settlement for the KV, such as the school’s buildings and 100 percent staff quarters for all the staff of the KV. The institute is ready to bear all the expenditure, including future development spending.
If sponsors are not able to fulfil their commitments, in this case, KVS will have the power to cut the number of classes/sections. The admission process for the current academic year 2022–23 is expected to be finished within a month from the date of the issue of this order.
