New record of Jharkhand commercial tax department in revenue collection, record recovery of 21 thousand crores

Several special steps were taken by the Jharkhand government to increase the revenue collection. Due to which the Commercial Tax Department collected revenue of Rs 2500 crore more than the target in the year 2022-23. Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon expressed hope that next year's performance will be even better.

The Commercial Tax Department of Jharkhand has set a new record by collecting more than Rs 21 thousand crore. Revenue collection departments have also performed better due to better financial management. The Commercial Tax Department has created a record in revenue collection. Apart from this, Transport, Mines and Products and Prohibition have also crossed the target.

State Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon said that the Commercial Tax Department has achieved about 114 percent against the set target. Dr. Oraon was talking to journalists in Ranchi on Friday late evening. He said that today is the last day of the current financial year 2022-23. The Commercial Tax Department has recovered more than 2500 crores against its fixed target of 18,500 crores.

The Finance Minister said that compared to 2021-22, this time there has been 18 percent more recovery in SGST, 22 in VAT, 43 in electricity duty and 4 percent in profession tax. Many new steps have also been taken by the department to make up for the compensation not being received from the Centre. Among them, Intelligence and Revenue Analysis Unit has been formed at the divisional level.

Apart from this, special task units have been formed in five big zones. Against the disputed amount of 3500 crores of VAT era, 4 crores have been received and in the next financial year an amount of 500 crores is likely to be received under this head. However, on the question of not having five lakh appointments, the Finance Minister said that the reason for this is well known. But at the same time, the state will develop faster which will spend less on government service. In response to a question, the Finance Minister also informed that the Mines Department has achieved revenue against the target of 9500 crores. The condition of transport is also fine. However, the target figure of the excise department has not been achieved.
