New York City: 25-year-old Indian woman with bipolar disorder goes missing

New York: A 25-year-old Indian woman suffering from "bipolar disorder" has gone missing in New York City after which the police swung into action and are seeking information from the public to help locate her. She was last seen on March 1 leaving her house in the city's Queens borough.

New York: A 25-year-old Indian woman suffering from “bipolar disorder” has gone missing in New York City after which the police swung into action and are seeking information from the public to help locate her. She was last seen on March 1 leaving her house in the city’s Queens borough.

According to the New York City Police Department, the woman identified as Ferin Khoja was last seen at around 11 pm on March 1, wearing blue jeans, a green sweater and an olive green jacket. The police said that Khoja “suffers from bipolar disorder”.

The police department said that the 112 Precinct Detective Squad is “endeavouring to locate” Khoja, while also releasing her photograph. Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India in New York has been briefed about the case.

This latest disappearance of an Indian national in the US came more than two months after a missing student was found dead in the campus of Purdue University in Indiana. He was identified as Neel Acharya was reported missing on January 28 this year. Neel Acharya, a double major in computer science and data science at the John Martinson Honors College of Purdue University.
