New York: Indian 27-year-old man dies in building fire, e-bike battery caused it

New York: An official said that a Indian man killed in a deadly fire incident in Harlen, New York on Friday. He was 27-year-old. The Indian Embassy in New York identified him as Fazil Khan. According to the information, 17 other people were injured in this incident.

New York: An official said that a Indian man killed in a deadly fire incident in Harlen, New York on Friday. He was 27-year-old. The Indian Embassy in New York identified him as Fazil Khan. According to the information, 17 other people were injured in this incident.

After receiving information about this incident, the Indian Embassy said that they are in touch with his friends and family. After the incident, the Indian Consulate General in New York said that they are in touch with Khan’s family and will “extend all possible assistance” in reparation of his mortal remains to India.

In a post on X, Indian Consulate General said, “Saddened to learn about death of 27 years old Indian national Mr. Fazil Khan in an unfortunate fire incident in an apartment building in Harlem, NY. @IndiainNewYork is in touch with late Mr. Fazil Khan’s family & friends. We continue to extend all possible assistance in reparation of his mortal remains to India. @IndianEmbassyUS @MEAIndia.”

According to the media report, 27-year-old Khan, a graduate of Columbia Journalism School, died at a hospital after being rescued from the building. It added that 17 other people were injured in the incident.

The local media quoted the local fire department as saying that the cause of the fire in the Harlem apartment building was a lithium-ion battery.
