A McDonald’s employee in the United States was shot and seriously injured in the neck, reportedly after an argument with a customer over cold french fries. According to sources, the victim, identified as 23-year-old Matthew Webb, was working at a fast-food joint in New York on Monday evening when a woman said the fries served to her were cold. The customer was on a video call with his son during the dispute. The 20-year-old son reached the McDonald’s outlet shortly after and got into an argument with the employee.
According to police, Michael Morgan, a suspect in Monday’s fast-food shooting, was also charged with murder and possession of a weapon in connection with a murder that took place on October 21, 2020. Police said shortly after Tuesday night’s incident, Morgan was arrested and charged with shooting.
“Mom complained that the fries were cold,” police told the New York Post. “The mother was on FaceTime with her son, and she overheard the altercation between her and the clerk. The son and the clerk got into an argument, and it went out,” the officer said.
This was happen when the controversy escalated and the son shot Mr Webb in the neck with a 9mm handgun. The Independent reported that the employee was immediately taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
It has been informed in media reports that accused Morgan has been caught several times under various crimes. He was also accused of possessing a loaded gun.
