New Delhi: In a significant move to combat terror networks, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has initiated extensive raids across Delhi, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra. The anti-terror agency is currently conducting operations at multiple locations in these states.
The NIA, in collaboration with the Maharashtra Police and Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), launched coordinated raids at 44 locations in Padgha-Borivali, Thane, Mira Road, and Pune in Maharashtra, as well as Bengaluru in Karnataka. The aim is to dismantle and neutralize potential threats posed by these terror networks across the targeted regions.
Continuing its intensified efforts, the investigative agency is concentrating on the ISIS terror conspiracy case during these raids. The recent crackdown led to the arrest of 13 individuals in Pune, Maharashtra, connected to this case.
The NIA’s operations are part of a broader investigation into a terror plot influenced by extremist groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS. These organizations are alleged to have recruited individuals, conducting religious classes with the intent of inciting violent jihad to establish Islamic rule in India. The raids and arrests underscore the ongoing efforts to dismantle networks involved in planning and executing terror activities inspired by radical ideologies.
