NIA conducts raids in many states including Bihar, UP, Punjab, Goa linked to PFI

NIA is conducting raids in many states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh. According to the information, this raid is being done regarding PFI.

NIA conducts raids in many states including Bihar, UP, Punjab, Goa linked to PFI

New Delhi: NIA has taken major action against the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI). According to the information, NIA has raided more than 20 places in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. This action has been taken by the NIA after getting information that PFI is once again trying to strengthen its ground to carry out anti-national activities.

Bihar: Raids in Motihari and Darbhanga
NI team is conducting raids in Motihari and Darbhanga of Bihar. The NIA team started the raid in the morning at Sajjad Ansari’s house in Kuava village of Chakia subdivision of Motihari. The NIA is said to have started the raids in collaboration with the local police. It is said that this operation has been started to trace the person Irshad arrested from this area in the past.

On the other hand, the team of Darbhanga NIA Dr. Sarik Raza, a dentist located in Urdu Bazar of Darbhanga Nagar police station area and Mo. resident of Shankarpur village of Singhwada police station area. It is taking action to raid Mehboob’s house. This action of NIA is going on since around 4 am. According to the information received from the sources, raids are going on in the case related to PFI organization. Similarly, NIA raids are going on in other states including UP, MP.

The Union government banned PFI and its affiliates including Campus Front of India in September days after a crackdown on the organisation and the arrest of its 108 leaders and members.

A tribunal in March upheld the ban on PFI under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. In its 285-page report, the tribunal agreed with the government’s submission that even though these organisations have a laudable purpose on paper, they are indulging in illegal activities against the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
