New Delhi: On Sunday, The NIA arrested the seventh accused in connection with the murder of a tailor Kanhaiyalal in Rajasthan’s Udaipur last month. According to the information, the seventh person has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Earlier, six accused persons were arrested in this case on June 29, July 1 and July 4.
The accused has been identified as Farhad Mohammad Sheikh, 31, a resident of Udaipur. The NIA said that the arrested person was a close associate of one of the main accused in the case, Riyaz Attari, and had participated in the conspiracy to kill Kanhaiyalal, a tailor.
Kanhaiya Lal was stabbed to death inside his sewing shop on June 28. Ghaus Mohammad recorded the gruesome attack on a tailor by Riyaz Akhtari over a phone call and posted the video online. Both later said in a video that they killed Kanhaiya Lal to avenge the alleged insult to Islam. Both were arrested a few hours after the murder. Later four more people were arrested.
Due to the seriousness of the matter, tough decisions were taken in many areas of Rajasthan, including section 144, to shut down the internet. At the same time, in view of the intentions of the criminals and the seriousness of the case, the NIA itself took the matter into its own hands.
