Terror funding: Searches are currently underway at more than 14 places from north to south to central Kashmir. On October, the NIA had conducted searches at several places in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the terror funding case related to the suspected activities of Al Huda Educational Trust in the Union Territory. The agency was also successful in this action.
Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday morning raided several places in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with terror funding and locals supporting extremist groups. According to sources, one person has been detained.
According to media reports, searches are currently underway at more than 14 places from north to south to central Kashmir. The detained person hails from Kulgam district and was a resident of Premnagar area of Jammu and was involved in a terror conspiracy. Officials of NIA and J&K Police are interrogating him at Pir Meetha police station.
According to information, the ongoing raids on Friday are in connection with a case registered in 2022 for terror funding, providing logistical support to terror groups and aiding terror infrastructure in the Valley. Multiple teams of NIA are conducting searches at more than 14 places including Kulgam, Sophomore, Budgam and many other areas.
Earlier this month also, NIA had conducted large-scale raids in several states in connection with the nationwide gangster network. The raids were conducted in various parts of northern India including New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab.
