Punjab: In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has confiscated immovable properties belonging to Khalistani terrorist Ramandeep Singh in Ferozepur, Punjab. This action, directed by the NIA special court, marks a crucial step in tightening the noose on individuals involved in the pro-Khalistan gangster-terrorist nexus.
Acting on directives from the NIA special court, the agency seized 31 kanals, 9 marlas, and 4 sarsahi land owned by the accused in Jhok Nodh Singh village and Tibbi Kalan of Ferozepur. This legal intervention marks a significant step in curbing the resources available to individuals fueling terrorist activities.
The confiscation of properties is part of a wider investigation into terror activities orchestrated by various proscribed terrorist organizations, including the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), and International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). The NIA’s efforts are aimed at dismantling the infrastructure supporting these nefarious groups.
NIA investigations have unearthed a network involved in smuggling terrorist hardware such as arms, ammunition, explosives, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) across the border to perpetrate acts of violence and spread fear in India. The agency’s proactive stance aims to disrupt these illicit supply chains and prevent further threats to national security.
The NIA initiated the case suo moto on August 20, 2022, reflecting its commitment to tackling terrorism head-on and dismantling the networks that perpetuate it. The agency’s ongoing investigations demonstrate its determination to eradicate terrorist activities and safeguard the nation against threats posed by extremist elements.
