In the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, approval was given to increase the salaries and allowances of the ministers of the state government. Experts say that the salary and allowances have been increased by 30-35 thousand per month. It is being told that now the salary and allowance of the ministers of the state will now be about two lakh 70 thousand rupees.

A total of 35 agendas were approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Nitish Kumar. However, due to the running of the Legislature session, the information about the decisions of the cabinet was not given by the government. According to another important decision of the cabinet, now the state government on its own will give scholarship to the students belonging to backward and extremely backward classes.

Apart from this, approval was given for the development work of river front for the convenience of devotees on the banks of Uttar Vahini Ganga river in Simariya Dham (Begusarai), the main center of folk faith of North Bihar, especially Mithila residents.

This includes plans for construction of pucca ladder ghat on the river bank, development and beautification of various facilities for the devotees in the Kalpavas Mela area. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself had reached Simaria Dham in the month of November last. Funds were approved by the cabinet for four SC-ST schools with 720 residences.

Now the education department will directly send the amount to the students’ account. The state government will run the ‘Chief Minister’s Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme’ from its own resources.
