Noida: Delivery boy thrashed, beaten with stick, stripped shirtless by group of men

Over personal enmity, a man working as delivery boy in Noida was allegedly beaten with a stick and slapped multiple times by a group of men known to him. The victim was also stripped shirtless and thrashed brutally by the accused, officials said on Thursday.

Noida: Over personal enmity, a man working as delivery boy in Noida was allegedly beaten with a stick and slapped multiple times by a group of men known to him. The victim was also stripped shirtless and thrashed brutally by the accused, officials said on Thursday.

Alleged videos of the incident has emerged on social media. The incident unfolded on February 9. An FIR has been registered in the case. The victim has been identified as Abhay Pratap, who is originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur and works as a delivery executive in Noida at an under-construction building, police said.

Two short video clips of the incident allegedly show a group of people attacking and abusing Abhay Pratap, who hails from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh and works as a delivery executive at an under-construction building here. Let’s work.

In one of the clips, which has gone viral on social media platforms, a group of men can be seen assaulting and hurling expletives at the victim, who was without shirt. The video also showed the accused hitting the accused with stick and slapping. The victim and the accused assaulting him are all in their early 20s.

Police said that both the accused and the victim were known to each other. A fight broke out between them on February 9 due to some dispute over some matter, a police spokesperson said, sources reported.

Case registered, probe underway
Based on the complaint of the plaintiff, a case was registered at Sector-113 police station on 9 February. The victim was sent for medical examination the same day. Police said that investigation into the matter has been initiated and further necessary legal action is underway. He said that efforts are being made to identify and arrest the accused.
