Islamabad: In the midst of Pakistan’s political instability, Bangladeshi novelist Taslima Nasreen claimed on Saturday that Imran Khan may now divorce Bushra Bibi, his third wife and spiritual counsellor, as he prepares to leave the prime ministership. Her remarks come as Imran Khan is scheduled to face the no-confidence motion in the Pakistan assembly on Saturday.
Many people believe Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi because she was his spiritual guide who lead him to the prime ministership.
Stating this hearsay, Taslima said, “Imran Khan married Bushra because Bushra with her special spiritual power said Imran would be the Prime Minister. Did she predict he won’t be able to complete his term? Certainly not.”
“Now he can divorce her& marry a fortune-telling female parrot who will say Imran will never die,” she further said.

Soon after winning the election in 2018, Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi, commonly known as Pinky Peerni. Since becoming Pakistan’s first lady, opposition parties have accused Bushra Bibi of practising witchcraft.
If Khan loses the no-confidence vote, the opposition will choose a prime ministerial candidate.
After the court verdict, Sharif, the younger brother of three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said the opposition had nominated him to succeed Khan if he was overthrown.
