Mumbai: Shrikant Shinde, Shiv Sena MP and son of Eknath Shinde, on Saturday said that numbers matter a lot as 12 MPs of the Uddhav Thackeray faction decided to join the Shinde camp. He further added that two-thirds of the legislators in Maharashtra and 12 out of 18 MPs have been supporting his father, Eknath Shinde.
A fierce battle has been raging between the two factions of Shiv Sena regarding the party’s claim to the symbol. Both sections are singing the same song that they have the majority. The Election Commission of India urged both groups to present their documentary evidence to establish which faction has a majority in the Shiv Sena.
Shrikant further added that the ball is in the court of law, and the apex court will have to give the final verdict on the party’s future. Numerous petitions are pending before the Supreme Court regarding the disqualification of MLAs from the Shinde faction.
Shiv Sena (MP) Shrikant revealed another shocking news for the Uddhav camp, as former minister Arjun Khotkar, who is an ally of Uddhav, shared breakfast with the Shiv Sena MP on Friday. Khotkar has been planning for his future political career. It seems he will announce whether to live with Uddhav or join Shinde’s camp tomorrow.
