In the research it was found that waist circumference was also one of the major factors in the occurrence of this disease. Waist circumference was linked to 18% greater risk of death from prostate cancer while with every 10 centimetres (3.9 inches) increase in waist circumference there was 13% greater risk of high grade cancer.

Research is being conducted on the topic that whether the higher risk of aggressive prostate cancer in men is due to developing aggressive forms of the disease or differences in the detection of prostate cancer.

One of the researchers said that the findings in taller men may be beneficial to understand the mechanisms underlying prostate cancer development.
