Odisha: 3 Students killed after being hit by a speeding car outside school; One arrested

Odisha: Car crushed four students in front of school in Bhubaneswar. Three students died and one was injured in the accident. The accident took place in front of Shardhapali Government High School on Suvarnapur-Binika road at Shardhapali Chowk at around 11 am.

Sonepur: The car crushed four students in front of the school in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. Three students dies while other one is in critical condition. The accident took place in front of Shardhapali Government High School on Suvarnapur-Binika road at Shardhapali Chowk at around 11 am. The deceased have been identified as Subrata Bhoi, Raja Pera and Rajesh Pera, students of class 6. The car has been seized and its driver arrested, the officer stated.

2 Students dies in the hospital
One student died on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries on reaching Sonpur Medical College. The other died on the way from Sonpur Medical College and Hospital to Burla Medical College Hospital. Another injured student was discharged after being given first aid at Suvarnapur Hospital.

After this accident, a tense situation arose at the spot. A pall of gloom has descended on the homes of families who have lost their children. After the accident, a wave of mourning has spread in the entire area. People have blocked the road demanding compensation and justice, due to which the movement of vehicles has stopped.

Angry people broke the car and thrashed the driver as well. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the driver to the police station. In view of the tension, police force has been deployed on the spot.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief over the incident and announced ₹ 3 lakh as compensation for the next of the family of the dead students.

Naveen Patnaik also announced ₹ 50,000 for the injured student.
