Odisha: PM Modi lays foundation stone, inaugurates railway projects worth over ₹8000 crore

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday flagged off Odisha's first Vande Bharat train. This Vande Bharat train will cover the distance of 500 km from Puri to Howrah in about 6.5 hours. Along with this, PM Modi also dedicated projects worth more than Rs 8000 crore for the development of Odisha.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday flagged off Odisha’s first Vande Bharat train. This Vande Bharat train will cover the distance of 500 km from Puri to Howrah in about 6.5 hours. Along with this, PM Modi also dedicated projects worth more than Rs 8000 crore for the development of Odisha.

The Vande Bharat Express train running between Puri in Odisha and Howrah in West Bengal will depart from Howrah at 6.10 am and reach Puri at 12.35 pm. Whereas, train number 22896 Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will leave Puri at 1.50 pm and reach Howrah at 20.30 pm.

This train will run 6 days a week (except Thursday) between Puri to Howrah. This train will stop at Khurda Road, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur between Puri and Howrah.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several rail projects worth more than Rs 8,000 crore in Odisha. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Puri and Cuttack railway stations during this program organized through video conference.

Along with this, the PM dedicated to the nation 100 percent electrification of the rail network in Odisha and doubling of the Sambalpur-Titlagarh rail line.

Apart from this, PM Modi also dedicated to the nation a new broad gauge rail line between Angul-Sukinda, the third line connecting Manoharpur-Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Jamga and the new broad gauge line between Bichupali-Jhartarbha.
