Odisha: Two Maoists killed in gunfight with security forces in Boudh district

Odisha: On Thursday, an official said that at least two Maoists were killed after a gun battle between red rebels and security forces in Boudh district of Odisha.

Odisha: On Thursday, an official said that at least two Maoists were killed after a gun battle between red rebels and security forces in Boudh district of Odisha.

A senior police officer said that the firing between the Maoists and Odisha Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel happened in the Parhel reserve forest under Kantamal police station limits. He also said,“Two bodies of Maoists along with arms, grenades and other articles were recovered from the operation site.”

Soumendra Priyadarshi, Director of intelligence said that the bodies of two Maoist cadres were recovered by the elite anti naxal force special operations group after an exchange of fire with a group of Maoists in Parhel reserve forest area of Boudh district.

The two killed Naxalites have been identified as Sunil and Santu. Both of them are said to be party members of the Naxalite 8th Battalion. After this encounter incident, the police’s SOG and DVF personnel have started a massive search operation in the entire area.
