Odisha’s Majhi Government Opens All Doors of Jagannath Puri Temple for Devotees

Jagannath Puri Temple: The BJP government led by CM Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha has taken a big decision in its first cabinet meeting. The Majhi Cabinet has approved the proposal to reopen all the four gates of Jagannath Puri Temple in Puri from this morning.

Jagannath Puri Temple: The BJP government led by CM Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha has taken a big decision in its first cabinet meeting. The Majhi Cabinet has approved the proposal to reopen all the four gates of Jagannath Puri Temple in Puri from this morning. The former BJD had decided to keep all but one gate of the temple closed after the Covid-19 pandemic. There was a demand from the devotees to open all the doors.

Actually, BJP had promised to open the doors of the temple (Jagannath Puri Temple) before the Odisha Assembly Elections. The proposal related to this was presented in the cabinet meeting a day earlier. On Thursday, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi performed puja in the temple. During this, CM Majhi said that we had proposed to open all four gates of Jagannath temple in the cabinet meeting yesterday. This proposal was passed at 6.30 am today. I participated in Mangala Aarti with my MLAs and Puri MP.

The new CM of Odisha further said that ‘We have also proposed funds in the cabinet for the development of Jagannath temple and other works. When we present the next budget, we will allocate a fund of Rs 500 crore for temple management.
