Ola e-scooter sales crosses ₹ 1,100 Crore in just two days, Check next sale date

New DElhi: Ola Electric, the EV arm of the raid-hailing app, has announced achieving ₹ 1100 crore in combined sales for the two days that the purchase window for its electric scooter was open. The company began online sales for its electric scooter, which is offered in two variants – S1, and S1 Pro, on September 15, 2021, and kept the purchase window open for 48 hours, until September 16, 2021. Customers who had already reserved the Ola scooter, when the company opened online reservations in July 2021, were given priority.

In the official statement released by the company, Ola Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said, “In total over 2 days, we have done over ₹ 1100 crores in sales! This is unprecedented not just in the automotive industry, but it is one of the highest sales in a day (by value) for a single product in Indian e-commerce history! We truly are living in a digital India.”

On the first day of the online sale, the company had closed the day by selling electric scooters worth over ₹ 600 crore. When the purchase window is open, customers could book the scooter online for a minimum booking amount of ₹ 20,000. However, if you missed the purchase window, you can still reserve a spot for yourself online at ₹ 499, for the next sale day, which will now be on November 1, 2021.

Aggarwal further added, “While the purchase window is now closed, our reservations remain open on olaelectric.com and I want to let all of you know that we will be reopening the purchase window on November 1, 2021, just in time for Diwali. So, if you’d like to buy the Ola S1 and the S1 Pro, then I encourage you to reserve asap. Those who have already reserved but did not purchase in the window that ended yesterday will also be able to purchase on November 1.”

The Ola S1 is priced at ₹ 1 lakh, while the S1 Pro is priced at ₹ 1.30 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The prices could further go down at the time of delivery, depending on state subsidies on EVs across the country. Deliveries are set to begin in October this year across 1000 cities and towns. The base model Ola S1 will come with a top speed of 90 kmph and a range of up to 121 km on a single charge. The S1 Pro, on the other hand, will offer a top speed of around 115 kmph and a range of up to 181 km.
