Bengaluru: Good news for car lovers, Bengaluru-based Ola Electric is going to launch a new electric vehicle on 15th August on the occasion of 75th Independence Day of India. A year ago on this day Ola Electric launched the first electric scooter in India. Now the company can take the curtain from its first electric car. Ola has released the teaser of the upcoming electric four-wheeler. Bhavish Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Ola Electric, made this important announcement late on Thursday night.
The Bengaluru-based company had originally teased a trio of models but only one will be making its debut on August 15. Based on recent tweets and teasers from Ola founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, this EV will likely be a sporty offering with a highly efficient aerodynamic profile.

This information comes after Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took to Twitter to tease an upcoming announcement regarding the Ola electric car on Independence Day, August 15. The co-founder teased a video of the right rear wheel of the electric car saying, “Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.”
Ola has recently revealed its first Lithium-Ion cell. The company is also expected to announce a new and bigger plant, which will be used to develop its new electric car along with battery cell technology.
Earlier in June, Ola Electric gave a sneak peek of its upcoming electric four-wheeler during the Ola Customer Day at the Ola Future factory. Agarwal had said that more details about the car would be revealed on August 15. He had said that he is also committed to making the best products for the customers in the electric vehicle segment.
With this new four-wheeler project, Ola Electric aims to disrupt the status quo in the industry. To do so, Ola Electric is planning add several features and tech in the car, and the EV will likely also have best in class specs. A long range of over 500 km along with being the “sportiest car built in India” will certainly aid the Indian automaker’s goals.
