New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made the first arrest in Delhi’s liquor policy case. ED has arrested Sameer Mahendru, close aide of Manish Sisodia. Earlier on Tuesday, the CBI had arrested Vijay Nair.

Sources said that Vijay Nair is close to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister Manish Sisodia. In this regard, the Aam Aadmi Party, terming the entire action illegal, accused the BJP for this.

According to the ED’s FIR, at least two payments in crores were made by Indospirits owner Sameer Mahendru to “close associates” of Sisodia, who were among the liquor traders allegedly involved in irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy. were one.

Vijay Nair was arrested by the CBI on Tuesday in the Delhi liquor scam case. He is the former CEO of an entertainment and event media company. The ED had also raided their premises. Nair is being told as the main conspirator of this alleged scam. According to the information, Vijay Nair was called for questioning at the CBI office on Tuesday. After that he was arrested. Vijay Nair is accused of selectively giving licenses, factionalism and conspiracy.

There was also a clarification from the Aam Aadmi Party on the arrest of Vijay Nair. AAP spokesperson Akshay Marathe said that Vijay Nair was the communication in-charge of AAP for a few years. He said that he is being implicated in a fake case. Marathe claimed that this was a complete political revenge as Nair was devising a strategy for the Gujarat elections.
