Operation Kaveri: 10th batch of Indians from Sudan reached Jeddah, so far 2000 people have come

Operation Kaveri: India has safely evacuated the 10th batch of its citizens from violence-hit Sudan. They have been brought from Sudan Port to Saudi city Jeddah. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday that New Delhi has continued Operation Kaveri in the conflict-torn African country. Under this rescue operation, India is evacuating its people trapped in Sudan amid the ongoing armed conflict between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Force.

The ninth batch of Indians left for Jeddah with 326 passengers from Port Sudan. Earlier Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan updated that the 8th batch of Indian nationals were safely evacuated from Sudan and brought to Jeddah airport. The batch consisted of 121 persons, including family members of Indian Embassy officials.

He tweeted, ‘A daring rescue operation! 8th batch of 121 Indians reached Jeddah by IAF C 130 J from Wadi Sidna, Sudan. This evacuation was more complicated, because Wadi Sidna is in the vicinity of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Family members of our embassy officials were also part of this group. He was warmly welcomed.
