The applicant, Anjuman Dawat-o-Azeemat, in her FIR alleged that the news of the underage girl’s marriage with the MNA from Balochistan, about four times of her age, had gone viral on social media, attracting a lot of backlash.

As per Chitral police station SHO Inspector Sajjad Ahmed, the minor girl was a student of Government Girls High School, Jughoor and her date of birth at the school was mentioned as October 28, 2006, which means that she has not attained the legal age of marriage.

Ahmed was also reportedly alleged that the police had visited the girl’s home in the Daroosh area of Chitral a few days ago on the complaint of the organisation, but her father had denied his daughter’s marriage.

Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi was elected to the National Assembly from constituency NA-263 (Kila Abdullah) as JUI-F leader.
