Pakistan: 17 dead in bus-truck crash in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: In yet another tragic incident, At least 17 people were killed when a bus collided head-on with a truck in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday. Police gave this information. The accident took place near Kohat on the Indus Highway, about 40 km south-west of Peshawar.

According to the police, one person has been injured in this accident and he and the dead have been taken to the district headquarters hospital. According to the police, the accident happened due to brake failure of the truck. Governor Haji Ghulam Ali and Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan have expressed grief over the incident.

“We have taken all the dead and injured to a hospital in Kohat,” said rescue officer Rahmat Ullah. TV footage showed pictures of the destroyed bus.

Significantly, on Sunday, a passenger bus collided with a pillar and fell from a bridge in Balochistan province, which caught fire and killed 40 people. Such fatal road accidents are common in Pakistan due to poor road infrastructure and disregard for traffic laws.
