According to Pakistani media, the bomb blast took place on Agha Sultan Ibrahim Road in Khuzdar city of Balochistan. Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar confirmed that a vehicle was targeted using an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the bomb attack and said that terrorists are attacking innocent people. The government will not allow any of their plots to succeed. However, no organization or terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
A similar attack took place last month where a police van driver and an officer were killed, while another was injured in a magnetic bomb attack in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.
In another incident in February, two Frontier Corps officers were killed and three soldiers injured in an explosion in Kohlu district of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, Dawn quoted officials as saying. The blast took place near a vehicle belonging to jawans involved in an operation against miscreants in Kahan area of Kohlu district. Dawn had launched a cleanliness drive in Kohlu area on Friday, quoting a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the action an Improvised Explosive Device (IID) detonated near the leading party, killing two officers. As per Dawn report, sanitisation operation is underway in the area to nab the culprits.
At least five people were injured in a blast near Pakistan’s Quetta Police Lines area on Sunday, Dawn newspaper reported, quoting rescue officials. The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
