In a shocking incident, Ameer Balaj Tipu, a notable figure in Lahore’s underworld don and the owner of a goods transport network, was fatally shot during a wedding ceremony in the Chung area on February 18. Ameer Balaj Tipu, the son of Arif Amir, also known as Tipu Truckanwala, succumbed to injuries sustained during the gunfire.
The assailant targeted Balaj and two other guests, critically injuring them. In response, Balaj’s armed associates retaliated swiftly, resulting in the immediate death of the attacker. Despite attempts to save him, Balaj passed away at Jinnah Hospital.
Balaj’s family history is marked by violence, with his father falling victim to a fatal attack in 2010 at Allama Iqbal airport, and his grandfather being involved in a longstanding feud.
The news of Balaj’s demise stirred grief and anger among his supporters, who gathered at the hospital to mourn. Heart-wrenching scenes unfolded as mourners expressed their allegiance to Balaj and condemned the attackers.
Law enforcement authorities have sealed off the area and initiated a thorough investigation. Their focus is on uncovering the motive behind the attack and identifying the assailant. As of now, no arrests have been reported.
