Eleven Lucknow University students are in a district prison for the last seven days. Their crime was to show black flags to UP CM Yogi Adityanath in addition to holding up his fleet of cars for more than five minutes during his recent University visit.

The bail was denied by the lower court. The prosecution was given a clear cut instruction to oppose bail so that it can give a lesson to the disturbing elements.

The police has filed the case under serious charges.

Yogi Adityanath was not happy with the incident. In his speech, he labelled these students as “ugravadi,” and wanted an answer from officials how they gotten close to his fleet of vehicles.

Two Lucknow University student union presidents, Arvind Singh Gope and Brajesh Pathak are the known figure in UP politics.
