Parliament Session Live: Uproar in Lok Sabha over NEET paper leak case, proceedings adjourned till July 1

New Delhi: Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till July 1 due to the ruckus in the House amid the opposition’s demand for discussion on the NEET issue. This information was given by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. He said that on behalf of the government, we have made it clear that whatever issue will be raised, we will give detailed information on it.

We once again assure the members that the government is always ready for discussion, but the trend adopted by the Congress Party by stopping the proceedings of the House and not allowing the House to function is not right. He said that I condemn it. I appeal that this should not happen again.

The House was adjourned till 11 am on Monday after a single adjournment on Friday due to the uproar in the Lok Sabha by members of the Congress and other opposition parties demanding a discussion on alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. Earlier, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha had to be adjourned till 12 noon.

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of NEET and demanded a discussion on the matter with opposition MPs. Speaker Om Birla requested that the motion of thanks on the President’s address be discussed. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said that on behalf of the opposition and the government, we wanted to give a joint message to the students of India that we consider this issue important. So, we thought that out of respect for the students, we would discuss NEET today.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that NEET should be discussed in the House. Students are the future of our country. Their issue should be discussed seriously. We are ready to debate this peacefully. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that yesterday a meeting of leaders of all opposition parties was held and there was consensus that today we want to discuss the issue of NEET.

NEET should be discussed here in the House. I request the Prime Minister that this is an issue of youth and it should be discussed properly and it should be a respectful discussion. We will do it respectfully. You should also join the discussion, you should also participate because this is a matter of youth. This message should be sent from the Parliament that the Government of India and the Opposition are together talking about the students.
