Parliament Session: Rahul Gandhi Demands Discussion on NEET Exam Rigging

As soon as the proceedings of the Lok Sabha started this morning. Similarly, an uproar started regarding the NEET issue. Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has demanded discussion on the NEET issue. On this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that you can raise these issues during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address.

Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has demanded discussion on the NEET issue. On this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that you can raise these issues during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address. However, the opposition remained adamant on the demand that NEET should be discussed first in the House. Seeing that the matter was not resolved, the proceedings of the House were adjourned.

A request to have a good discussion
He spoke to journalists on Friday before the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold a respectful and good discussion in Parliament on the issue of alleged irregularities in the NEET exam.

NEET should be discussed in the House
He said that yesterday there was a meeting of the leaders of all the opposition parties and there was a consensus that today we need to discuss the topic of NEET. We felt that NEET should be discussed here in the House. I request the Prime Minister that this is a youth issue and it should be discussed properly and it should be a respectful discussion. This message should be sent from the Parliament that the Government of India and the opposition are together talking about the students.

Uproar in Lok Sabha
Later, as soon as the Lok Sabha proceedings began, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of NEET and demanded a discussion on the matter with opposition MPs. Speaker Om Birla insisted that the motion of thanks on the President’s address be discussed first. Rahul Gandhi said that ‘On behalf of the opposition and the government, we wanted to give a joint message to the students of India that we consider this issue important. So, we thought that out of respect for the students, we would discuss NEET today.

However, Speaker Om Birla stopped him from speaking. He said that we will give you full time. You can raise these issues during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address. During this, there was a huge uproar in the House, due to which the proceedings were adjourned for some time.
