Participate in Deepotsav from Anywhere: Holy Ayodhya App Allows Devotees to Light ‘Diyas’ and Break Guinness World Record

The recently launched Holy Ayodhya mobile app, inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 5,000 bookings pouring in from devotees across the country within 24 hours. The app, developed in collaboration with e-commerce company shopclues.com by the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA), enables individuals to contribute to the lighting of earthen lamps (diyas) during the upcoming Deepotsav celebrations.

This initiative aims to set a sixth Guinness World Record by illuminating 21 lakh earthen diyas in Ayodhya this year. Through the Holy Ayodhya app, users can book and pay for one to 51 diyas, facilitating their participation in the event. The Uttar Pradesh government, in collaboration with ADA and shopclues.com, has made it possible for devotees, even those residing abroad, to connect with the Deepotsav festivities.

To avail of this unique opportunity from the comfort of their homes, participants can choose from various packages. The basic package starts at ₹101 for one diya, providing participants with a digital proof of their involvement. The offerings expand with higher packages: ₹251 for 11 diyas, which includes ‘Prasad’ of Ram Janmabhoomi; ₹501 for 21 diyas, including diyas, ‘Prasad,’ ‘Ramnami Gamchha,’ and Saryu water delivered to their doorstep; and ₹1,100 for 51 diyas, which additionally includes ‘Prasad’ of Ramlala, ‘Ramnami Gamchha,’ a model of the Ram temple, and Saryu water, all accompanied by the lit diyas.

Vishal Singh, Vice Chairman of Ayodhya Development Authority, expressed that the Holy Ayodhya app is a remarkable way for individuals worldwide to engage in the spiritual celebrations of Ayodhya. With the support of this initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to achieve the ambitious goal of lighting 21 lakh diyas and making Deepotsav a memorable event.

Vijesh Poolakkil, Associate Director of Enterprise Business at Shopclues, Gurugram, mentioned that the app’s rapid success is a testament to its popularity, indicating that with more time for promotion, it could have achieved even greater success.
