Patna: Vijay Kumar Sinha has finally resigned from the post of Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He said that he would have resigned earlier, but he should get an opportunity to answer the allegations leveled against him, so he is doing his thing. Vijay Sinha said that during his tenure he worked to advance the dignity of the House. Worked without any malice and greed-greed. After resigning from the post, Vijay Sinha got up from the stage.

Vijay Sinha said that some MLAs have brought a no-confidence motion against me, so it will not be appropriate for me to continue on the basis of majority. While holding the post of President, I discharged my duty with full devotion. He expressed his gratitude to all the members including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

I would have resigned as soon as the new government was formed, but some MLAs brought a no-confidence motion against me, which I did not like. I felt that it was not right to resign from the post without giving my side. The allegation made against me of arbitrariness and dictatorship is completely baseless.

Earlier, Sinha said that he saw many achievements in his short tenure. It was very inspiring for the Prime Minister to come to the Bihar Legislative Assembly for the first time and address the House. The Chief Minister and presently the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar got full support in the House, which is not hidden from anyone. Common people saw all the activities of the House through webcasting in the Vidhan Sabha.

Vijay Sinha said that in the no-confidence motion brought against me, the no-confidence motion of 8 out of 9 members was not according to the rules. At the end of his address in the house, he said that he conducted the house impartially. This is the desire to increase the respect of the legislature, because by increasing the respect of the legislature, administrative anarchy will end.

Sinha finally gave the responsibility of assuming the seat to JDU MLA Narendra Narayan Yadav as he is the senior most member hence nominated him as the sitting member and adjourned the house till 2 pm. On this decision of Vijay Sinha, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Chaudhary called it unfair and said that since Maheshwar Hazari is the Deputy Speaker of the House, his decision is unfair.
