London: Barcelona central midfielder Pedro González López, famously known as Pedri, put his shirt on as he betted against Spain’s win in the European Championship this summer. According to reports, the 18-year-old has promised to shave his head should Spain grab the Eurocopa on July 11th.

The Barcelona starlet has been a regular fixture in Luis Enrique’s side that is into the semi-finals of the tournament and faces Italy for a place in Sunday’s final.

Pedri spoke about his game time after the quarter-final win over Switzerland and also about how he plans to celebrate should Spain come out on top.

“I’m a little tired, but at 18 I have the strength for much more,” he said. “All the teams are good. Everyone can eliminate everyone and it will be a great game.

“It is a dream to be able to wear the Barça and Spain shirt. I hope I can enjoy it [the semi-final]. If we win the European Championship I will shave my head.”

Spain face a very tricky test next up at Wembley Stadium against an Italy side that knocked out Belgium last time out with an impressive 2-1 win.

To note, Roberto Mancini’s men have also beaten Turkey, Switzerland, Wales and Austria in the competition and have not lost since September 2018.
