At 11:30 pm local time on Wednesday, a fire broke out at the Grand Diamond City hotel-casino in Poipet. According to the police, around 30 persons were injured during this deadly fire.
Video footage that surfaced on social media unveiled the massive complex on fire; in some of the clips shown, people were trying to run away and jump from the burning building.
However, a foreign ministry source in Thailand claimed that we are coordinating closely with the locals, and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital in Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province.
The fire brigade and security personnel have been working around the clock to douse the fire. Thailand has sent several fire trucks as well to overcome the deadly inferno. Rescue operations that have been taking place on a war footing.
A volunteer with the Thai rescue organisation, the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, said that the fire erupted on the first floor and, within a short period of time, it caught the multi-story building.
