“I pay homage to the great Pingali Venkayya on his birth anniversary. Our nation will forever be indebted to him for his efforts in giving us the Tricolour, which we are very proud of. Taking strength and inspiration from the Tricolour, may we keep working for national progress, “he said in another tweet.

Besides PM Modi, several other veteran party leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president J P Nadda, also adopted “Tiranga” as their display picture on their social media pages.
The Prime Minister announced in his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat‘ on Sunday that every citizen should make “Har Ghar Tiranga” to use “Tricolour” on a mass level as their display pictures on social media between August 2 and 15.
Har Ghar Tiranga is a campaign regarding ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to encourage people to hoist the “tricolour” at home to mark the splendid 75th year of Independence of the nation.
