Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, discussing the 2024 general election results and criticizing the Congress party.

Criticism of Congress
PM Modi accused Congress of only fielding Dalit candidates when they anticipate a defeat.
He dismissed Congress’s claims that the country would grow regardless of who was in power, suggesting such statements come from those who ran the government on “auto-pilot mode.”

Rejection of Propaganda
Modi emphasized that the 2024 election results reflect the people’s rejection of propaganda in favor of performance.
He stated that the politics of misleading people has been defeated.

Support for Constitution
He reiterated that for the BJP, the Constitution is not merely a compilation of articles but holds significant spirit and importance.

Economic and Social Achievements
Modi highlighted the impact of the election results on domestic capital markets and global enthusiasm.
He mentioned that one crore women in self-help groups have become ‘lakhpati didis,’ with the number expected to rise to three crore.
The PM-Kisan scheme benefited over 10 crore farmers, compared to the three crore beneficiaries of the UPA’s loan waiver.

Technology and Infrastructure

Modi promised a rapid transformation in public transportation and the expansion of technology footprints across various sectors.

Fight Against Poverty
The Prime Minister committed to a decisive fight against poverty in the coming five years, aiming to make India the third-largest economy globally.

Opposition’s Reaction
Opposition parties, led by Congress, staged a walkout after the Leader of the Opposition was not allowed to intervene during Modi’s speech.
Modi remarked that the opposition could not digest the mandate given to the NDA by 140 crore people.

RS Chairman’s Criticism

The Rajya Sabha chairman criticized opposition parties for their walkout during the PM’s reply on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address.
PM Modi’s speech underscored the achievements and future plans of the BJP-led NDA government, highlighting the support received from the electorate and dismissing the opposition’s criticisms.
