PM Modi flags off Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express in Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled the departure of the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at the Gandhinagar railway station on Friday.

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled the departure of the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at the Gandhinagar railway station on Friday. On the second day of his visit to Gujarat today, he will inaugurate Phase I of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project and is also set to launch numerous projects worth Rs 7,200 crore.

Additionally, he rode the train from Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad’s Kalupur railway station. According to a state government release, PM Modi will officially inaugurate the ambitious and long-awaited phase-1 of the Rs 12,925 crore Ahmedabad Metro project from Kalupur station.

He will board the metro train at Kalupur station and reach Doordarshan Centre in Thaltej, where he is scheduled to address a sizable crowd around midday.

PM Modi is scheduled to arrive in Ambaji town in Banaskantha district in the evening to inaugurate several projects worth Rs 7,200 crore. After that, he will address a huge gathering. The release added that he will perform an aarti at the famous Ambaji temple as well.

The assembly election in Gujarat is due this year, and it is the home state of PM Modi. The ruling BJP doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned to retain power in the state again, where it has been ruling for nearly three decades.

Vande Bharat Express

The Vande Bharat Superfast Express train will run six days a week between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar stations. It will stop at Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad stations in both directions. Meanwhile, the train has all the modern facilities such as AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car compartments, along with other amenities like sliding doors, personalised reading lights, mobile charging points, attendant call buttons, bio-toilets, automatic entry and exit doors, CCTV cameras, reclining facilities, and comfortable seats, the release said.
