PM Modi set to attend G20 summit in Indonesia’s Bali; prepares to meet with top world leaders

New Delhi: The G20 Summit will be held in Bali, Indonesia, and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Just a few weeks will pass before India takes up the G20 leadership beginning on December 1. According to estimates, the bloc accounts for more than 80% of global GDP and more than 75% of global trade.

Along with taking over the presidency, PM Modi is expected to meet with world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.”I will have extensive conversations with other G20 leaders during the Bali Summit about important global concerns like restoring global growth, food and energy security, environment, health, and digital transformation.

I will meet with the leaders of numerous other participating nations on the sidelines of the G20 Summit to evaluate India’s progress in bilateral relations with such nations, as stated by the PM in his departure statement.

In a significant development for our nation and citizens, Indonesian President Joko Widodo will transfer the G20 Presidency to India during the Bali Summit’s concluding ceremony. According to PM Modi’s announcement on Monday, India will formally take up the G20 Presidency on December 1. “I’ll personally invite G20 members and other guests to our G20 Summit next year as well,” he added.

Among the world leaders present at the summit on November 15–16 are US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“The world leaders will discuss current issues during the summit, including the situation of the economy, energy concerns, the environment, agriculture, health, and so on. Vinay Kwatra, secretary, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), said during a briefing on Sunday. PM Modi will attend three summit sessions on food and energy security, digital transformation, and health.
