New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that India has always taken firm steps to eliminate terrorism, while addressing the ‘No Money for Terror’ Ministerial Conference. In addition, he claimed that modern financial technologies are being used to fund terrorism. Despite losing thousands of precious lives, we are fighting against terrorism bravely. We are ready to tackle terror activities at any cost. “We believe that even one attack is too many,” the Prime Minister said, emphasising a “uniform zero-tolerance approach.”

He further added that unlawful activities like money laundering and financial crimes are involved in terror funding. In such a complex situation, the UNSC and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) are standing like rocks against terrorism.

PM Modi indirectly mentioned Pakistan during the conference, stressing action against such countries. “Certain nations are carrying forward terrorism as part of their foreign policy.” Such nations should be isolated. “There should not be any ifs and buts,” he stated.

The Prime Minister underlined that “proxy wars are replete with danger and violence.” “Fighting terrorists and fighting terrorism are two different aspects. The use of weapons can eliminate terrorists, but overcoming terrorism needs an advanced and larger positive response. A larger, more active plan is required to overthrow terrorism. “We cannot wait for terror to strike our homes,” he said emphatically.
