Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend legendary singer (92) Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral in Mumbai, which is scheduled to be held today evening at around 6:30pm.
Her last rites will be performed with full state honours in Maharashtra, besides a two-day national mourning in her memory, as a mark of respect, as per government sources.

The legendary Indian singer and India’s nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar, breathed her last in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on February 6, 2022 morning. Several political leaders, Bollywood celebrities rushed to pay their last respects.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first ones to share the sad news and said he is “anguished beyond words”.
Lata Mangeshkar’s health condition had deteriorated again on February 5, after which the team of doctors employed aggressive therapy to revive her, as informed her doctor. She was put on a ventilator and kept under observation. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray rushed to Breach Candy hospital to meet the veteran singer.
