PM Modi to launch Rs 13,000 Crore Development Projects in Varanasi Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after a busy day in Gujarat, arrived in Varanasi late Thursday evening to launch a slew of development projects amounting to Rs 13,000 crore in his parliamentary constituency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after a busy day in Gujarat, arrived in Varanasi late Thursday evening to launch a slew of development projects amounting to Rs 13,000 crore in his parliamentary constituency. The projects encompass a broad spectrum, including road connectivity, industrial development, education, healthcare, and sports infrastructure.

The prime minister commenced his Varanasi visit by inspecting the recently inaugurated Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg, which has significantly benefited the southern part of the city. On Friday, he is scheduled to participate in a prize distribution program for Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita winners at Banaras Hindu University.

PM Modi to launch Rs 13,000 Crore Development Projects in Varanasi. At 11.15 am, PM Modi will perform a ‘pooja’ and have a ‘darshan’ at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali, followed by an event at 11.30 am to commemorate the 647th birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas. The afternoon will witness a public function where the prime minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects aimed at transforming Varanasi.

PM Modi to launch multiple development projects in Varanasi today


The projects include the four-laning of the Ghargra-Bridge-Varanasi section of National Highway 233, the four-laning of the Sultanpur-Varanasi section of National Highway 56, and the inauguration of an HPCL LPG bottling plant in Sewapuri. In addition, there will be the launch of Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit, infrastructure development at UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon, and a silk fabric printing common facility centre for weavers.

To boost Varanasi’s textiles sector, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). In the healthcare domain, he will lay the foundation stone of a new medical college and the National Centre of Ageing at Banaras Hindu University. The prime minister will also inaugurate the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1, District Rifle Shooting Range, and various development works around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali, including the inauguration of a newly-installed statue of Sant Ravidas and the foundation stone for Sant Ravidas Museum and park beautification.

PM Modi received a warm welcome from the residents of Varanasi upon his arrival, with people gathering along the streets to shower flower petals as his convoy passed through the city. The development projects are poised to bring substantial improvements to various facets of Varanasi’s infrastructure and contribute to the overall progress of the region.
