PM Modi’s Maharashtra Visit: Launching Development Projects and Inaugurating National Games in Goa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a visit to Maharashtra and Goa. In Maharashtra, he will commence his trip by visiting the renowned Shri Saibaba temple in Shirdi and inaugurate its new “darshan queue complex”. Following this, he will perform the “Jal Pujan” of Nilwande Dam and dedicate the canal network of the dam to the nation. A public program in Shirdi is also on the agenda, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects, collectively worth approximately Rs 7,500 crore, spanning sectors such as health, rail, road, and oil and gas.

The new “darshan queue complex” in Shirdi is a modern and spacious building designed to provide comfortable waiting areas for devotees, featuring several waiting halls with a cumulative seating capacity for over 10,000 individuals. The foundation stone for this complex was laid by the prime minister in October 2018.

The canal network, extending over 85 km, will benefit 182 villages by facilitating water distribution through pipe networks. The Nilwande Dam project, initially conceived in 1970, is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs 5,177 crore.

During the public program, PM Modi will launch the “Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana,” which will provide additional financial support of Rs 6,000 per year to over 86 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra.

The prime minister will also inaugurate various development projects, including an Ayush hospital at the Ahmednagar Civil Hospital, electrification of the Kurduwadi-Latur road railway section (186 km), four-laning of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166 (package-I), and additional facilities at the Manmad Terminal of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited, among others.

Additionally, PM Modi will travel to Goa to inaugurate the 37th National Games, the first time the event is being held in the state. He will address the athletes participating in the sporting event, highlighting the transformation in India’s sports culture and athletes’ improved performance on the international stage, supported by the government.

The National Games will feature more than 10,000 athletes competing in over 43 sports disciplines across 28 venues from October 26 to November 9.
