New Delhi: The 101-year-old Heeraben Modi, mother of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, received her first shot of the corona vaccine. PM Modi himself informed about this through Twitter, while appealing to the fellow countrymen to get Covid-19 vaccine.
PM Modi’s tweet read, ‘I am happy to say that my mother has received the first vaccine of Corona vaccine today, I request everyone to encourage those who have been given the vaccine permission and help other to get the vaccine.”
Happy to share that my mother has taken the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today. I urge everyone to help and motivate people around you who are eligible to take the vaccine.

On the very first day of second phase of corona vaccination, Prime Minister Modi on March 1 got his jab against the deadly viral disease. Under the phase-2 of corona vaccine, people across the country who fall under two brackets- either are more than 60 years of age, or are above 45 years of age with co-morbidities, are being administered Covid-19 inoculations.
The world biggest vaccination campaign was launched on January 16 by the Indian government in three phases. In the first phase, vaccines were administered to the corona warriors, after that, people above 60 years of age or above 45 years of age with co-morbidities are allowed to hitch under Phase-2 started from March 1.
Under the second phase, that is, from 1 March, nearly 2 crore 56 lakh 85 thousand 11 people have been immunised against the coronavirus.
