PM Modi’s security breach: Centre seeks action-taken report from Punjab govt

New Delhi: The central government has become strict about the breach in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Punjab. The Union Home Ministry has sought a report on the action taken in this case from the Punjab government.

The Union Home Secretary also spoke to the Chief Secretary of Punjab about this and said that a charge sheet should be filed against all the responsible officials in the PM’s security breach case. After this, it is believed that action can also be taken after the charge sheet comes against the responsible officials this month.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy was stuck for 15-20 minutes on a flyover at Hussainiwala in Punjab’s Ferozepur on January 5 last year. The Prime Minister was on his way to a rally in Ferozepur, where he was supposed to lay the foundation stones of several projects costing more than Rs 42,000 crore in view of the elections, but his rally had to be postponed.

Regarding the Prime Minister’s security lapse, the state-run media house PIB had informed that the Prime Minister’s convoy was passing through Hussainiwala, 30 km from the National Martyrs’ Memorial, where some protesters were protesting on the flyover and had blocked the flyover.
