Ranchi: A man was killed on Thursday while he was allegedly attacked by a group of people in Jharkhand’s Dhawaiya village, which falls in the jurisdiction of Mahuatand police station. The victim was seriously injured after a beating by several men; fell to the ground and became unconscious. He was provided medical care, but his wound was so deep that he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the police, the local people were upset with the man’s relationship with a girl from a different community.
The superintendent of police, Bokaro, said that 11 people have been arrested so far after filing a complaint under relevant sections. Police have been doing further investigation to apprehend other culprits.
The SP further added that due to the death of the man, tensions prevailed in Dhawaiya village. But he assured that the situation is under control now and no untoward incident has taken place.
Currently, cases like setting girls on fire are taking place at a regular interval in Jharkhand. Now the lynching has occurred. This really raises the question regarding the law-and-order situation in the state.
